Radiation

Treatment Description

Radiation therapy uses high doses of radiation to help target and kill many different kinds of cancer throughout the body. Cancer cells multiply faster than normal cells in the body. Radiation is most harmful to quickly growing cells, so radiation therapy damages cancer cells more than normal cells. This stops cancer cells from growing and dividing and leads to cell death.
